The Roman Catholic Church of St-Christophe in Reuilly , a French parish in the Eure department in the Normandy region , was built in the 10th and 11th centuries. The Romanesque church on the outskirts of the village, surrounded by a cemetery, has been a protected architectural monument ( Monument historique ) since 1926 .
description
The church consecrated to St. Christopher originally belonged to the chapter of Évreux . The floor plan consists of two adjacent rectangles, the smaller of which forms the choir . The second, lower-lying rectangle serves as the nave . The wall consists of opus spicatum with deep into the mortar embedded rubble of limestone . Only the corners are made of stone . The roof structure rests on wooden supports on the inside and on the gable roof sits a roof turret with a ver wrong Erten pyramid helmet. The top of the gable is decorated with hollowed out stones. All windows are provided with round arches , which are framed by wedge stones made of precisely cut limestone. The original portal on the south side of the nave was later replaced by a brick portal on the west facade.
