Church of St-Pierre in Alleyrat

The Catholic parish church of St-Pierre in Alleyrat , a French commune in the Corrèze department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was built in the 14th century. The church consecrated to the Apostle Peter has been protected as a Monument historique since 1975 .

The late Romanesque church building belonged to a priory that was subordinate to the Benedictine monastery of Saint-Michel-des-Anges in Saint-Angel . The east-facing hall closes with a pentagonal apse , which is covered by a dome . The two side chapels were later added to the north of the nave , they have ribbed vaults .

The triumphal arch rests on simple capitals . The ceiling of the nave is from more recent times.
