St. Andrew

The Protestant village church of St. Andreas stands on a hill above the Hasel , a left tributary of the Thyra in the district of Uftrungen of the municipality of Südharz in the district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt . It belongs to the parish area in Kelbra Kirchenkreis Eisleben-Sömmerda the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

In the village church , built in the Middle Ages , parts of the church tower and the east wall and the choir arch have survived from this time . In the years 1732 to 1734 the church was built in the style of the time, including the remains of its predecessor. The sugar loaf bell from the 12th century and a richly decorated bell from 1628 and the baroque interior with the richly decorated pulpit altar are remarkable in terms of art history .

The organ by Julius Strobel (1871) has two manuals and a pedal with 20 voices .
