history

The village of Friedrichslohra was founded in 1775 at the suggestion of the tenant of the estate by the Lohra office . Simple houses and colonist houses were built for the Catholic workers from Eichsfeld who processed the wool produced on the domain . For this reason, Friedrich II also had a Catholic church built. As the Protestant population grew, a Protestant church was built in the middle of the 19th century .

description

The simple, baroque hall church was built in 1777 from plastered rubble stones . The nave is covered with a crooked hip roof that supports a ridge turret. The interior was completely renewed in the 1980s. The five carved statues of the apostles , which were created around 1480, are worth seeing . They originally stood in the Marienkirche in Elende . The wooden devotional image of a Pietà , which was made around 1420, stands outside .
