The Catholic parish church of St. Brigida is a listed church building in Blumenthal , a district of the municipality of Hellenthal in the district of Euskirchen ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The two-aisled plastered quarry stone building with a retracted choir with a 5/8 end is located away from the village, directly on the Olef . The low west tower under a bent slate pyramid is in front. The building was erected as a chapel in 1512 . The originally single-nave building was extended by a north aisle in 1967. The north wall of the Gothic nave was broken into pointed arch arcades . In the ship were Kreuzrippengewölbe fed, into the oracle net vault. Remnants of the rococo altars were reused on the organ parapet. The late Gothic sacrament niche is remarkable.
