History and architecture
A church was mentioned as part of the Grafschaft monastery at the end of the 11th century . The first church was built in 1723 as a single-nave, five-high building with a 3/8 end. The sacristy on the northeast side was hexagonal. In the side aisles and in the main aisle of the three-aisled west building there were round-arched niches with figures. The walls of the ship were divided by buttresses.
Only the three-part west building from 1723 and the central tower from 1750 have survived from the 18th century church. A new Baroque central building was built from 1910 to 1911 according to plans by Joseph Buschkremer. The side buildings are covered with mansard roofs. The facade is structured by serrations. There are semicircular wall niches in the arched side rooms. The design in the form of an octagon comes from Joseph Buchkremer from Aachen. Dome rib vaults rest on wall brackets and beams, which are supported by round pillars.
