description
St. Georg stands in the center of Bodelsberg. The branch church has a retracted choir with two arched windows at the base of the semicircular end. The mirror vaults are on profile cornices . Stitch caps protrude over the eastern round window.
The nave has three arched window axes. The corners are rounded towards the arched choir arch. The gallery was renewed in 1912. Instead of the west entrance with a sign from the 19th century, there were originally two side entrances. These can be recognized by arched niches in the first interval from the west. In the southern choir corner is a small sacristy extension , in the northern choir corner is the neo-baroque tower marked 1909 .
The church is decorated with classicist paintings from 1912. The coat of arms of the builder Rupert von Neuenstein has been exposed on the choir arch. It is marked 1787 .
The high altar of the branch church dates from the middle of the 19th century and was last changed in 1912. The altarpiece shows Saint George and is signed A. May 1862 . In the extract there is a baroque carved figure of God the Father . The two classicist side altars, like the pulpit, date from 1912.
