St. Jakobus is a chapel in Werthhoven , a district of the municipality of Wachtberg in the Rhein-Sieg district ( North Rhine-Westphalia ), mentioned as early as the 9th century . It stands as a monument under monument protection .

history

The chapel in Werthhoven is dedicated to St. Consecrated to James . It is the oldest religious building in the village of Wachtberg and for the first time in a Schenkungs certificate mentioned by the 898th The slate-roofed chapel with a small choir has a heavy-looking roof turret .

She was a Catholic chapel in the parish of St. Gereon Berkum until December 31, 2009 . Since 2010 it belongs to the parish of St. Marien Wachtberg .

Furnishing

The Pietà from the 15th century, attributed to the Cologne School of Painting , is the most valuable piece of furniture. The baroque altar with Madonna and Child has statues of St. James with walking stick and St. Joseph . There is also a statue of St. Sebastian , the second patron saint , from the 17th century.
