history

The new church was consecrated in 1971 to the title of St. Mary of the Rosary Queen. The new building had become necessary because the old church of St. Gereon offered too little space. The architects were Nikolaus Rosiny (1926–2011) and HJ Kiesgen. Together with the church, a kindergarten, the rectory and two apartments for the church staff were built in the new parish center "Am Bollwerk".
