Züllighoven is located south of Bonn in the Drachenfelser Ländchen, right on the border with Rhineland-Palatinate. The closest localities include Kürrighoven in the north , Berkum in the west, Werthhoven in the south-west (all municipality of Wachtberg), Oedingen in the south and Oberwinter in the east (both the town of Remagen ).

history

In 1670 Züllighoven comprised eight houses. As part of the Burggrafschaft Drachenfels , the village belonged to the rulership of the Electorate of Cologne until France occupied the left bank of the Rhine at the end of the 18th century . The French, who completely reorganized the administration in the annexed areas, introduced the Mairie constitution in 1800 and assigned the municipality of Züllighoven to Mairie Villip.

In 1815 the Rhineland and with it Züllighoven fell to Prussia , which took over the French administrative division almost unchanged. The Mairie became the mayor's office Villip , from 1930 the office Villip, in the district (from 1887 district) Bonn in the administrative district of Cologne in the province of Jülich-Kleve-Berg , from which the Rhine province emerged in 1822 through merger with the province of Grand Duchy of Lower Rhine . Züllighoven was one of ten parishes in the Villip mayor's office. At the census on December 1, 1910, the community had 92 inhabitants. The seat of the official administration was last Berkum.

On August 1, 1969, the municipality of Züllighoven was merged with the other municipalities of the Villip office and the municipalities of Adendorf , Arzdorf and Fritzdorf of the Meckenheim office to form the new municipality of Wachtberg by the law on the municipal reorganization of the Bonn area ( Bonn Law ) The parts of the district of Bonn that were not incorporated into Bonn or Wesseling were incorporated into the Siegkreis, which has since been called Rhein-Sieg-Kreis .
