history

After the Kleinbracher church was demolished because the thoroughfare had to be relocated, today's church of St. Joachim and Anna was built between 1882 and 1883 according to plans by the district architect of Morandell .

The high altar - but not the side altars - are based on designs by Valentin Weidner . A cost estimate from Weidner dated January 19, 1883 for the altars was too expensive for the Bad Kissingen pastor Andreas Dietz, so that Weidner submitted a proposal for the main altar with statues, crucifix, four candlesticks and two tabernacle lights on June 13, 1884, which was finally accepted .

As a supplementary document dated May 25, 1962 in the tower ball shows, the interior of the chapel was painted in 1914/1915 on behalf of the municipal administration by the painter Jakob Bissinger (1873-1933) from Hausen (cost 1,500 marks ).

The incorporation of Kleinbrach into Bad Kissingen in the course of the territorial reform of 1972 made it possible to finance an interior and exterior renovation of the church between 1981 and 1984. In the process, parts of Bissinger's paintings were exposed along with the Lamb of God and the pillars supporting the gallery. Complete exposure would have been too costly because Bissinger had not used any binding agents in his work. In addition, the church building got a new tower clock. The cost of the renovation amounted to 260,000 DM .
