history

The St. Catherine Chapel is first mentioned in a document in 1405. In this document it is named at the same time as a hospital and an inn , which used to be used by pilgrims as a place of hospitality and care. Today's Höllener church was built around 1500 in the Gothic style as a single-nave hall church with a choir closed on three sides. In 1773 the roof was renewed and at the same time a new roof turret with a curved, baroque hood was built. At the beginning of the 19th century, a small vestibule was added to the west entrance.

Furnishing

In the chapel you can see a valuable ceiling painting from the 16th century, which was uncovered in 1959.
