Altarpiece in the Völs parish museum

St. Konstantin in the village of St. Konstantin in the municipality of Völs was first mentioned in 1281 - the lower part of the tower and the foundation walls of the ship may date from the beginning of the 13th century.

At the instigation of the Tyrolean governor Leonhard von Völs , the church was redesigned in the late Gothic style in 1506 . The choir was rebuilt and the tower and nave were changed.

The colored stone relief on the right inner wall of the nave dates from the beginning of the 15th century. A king in a red cloak is visible, pulling a wolf up on a chain and freeing a curly-haired child from the animal's throat. The representation is interpreted either as an allegory of the redemption of man through Christ, Emperor Constantine or Saint Simpertus .

The poorly preserved fresco at the base of the tower, depicting St. Christopher , dates from the same period . In an inscription one reads: Christophore, qui Te manet, videt, nocturno tepore ridet ("Christophorus, who looks at you believingly at the early hour, does not dread disaster at night").

A panel painted on both sides from 1519 is regarded as the remains of the former high altar. It is assumed that altar wings originally belonged to it (in the parish museum in Völs).

The high altar painting from 1762 by the Viennese court painter Adam Mölkh (also Mölk), who also worked at the parish church of Sterzing , was stolen in 1972. A copy by Hans Pescoller can be seen in the church, only Saint Helena with a cross on top is an original.

An altarpiece from 1698 hangs on the left side. In the top there is the depiction of the Trinity as three persons ( Tricephalus ) in the form that was forbidden by Pope Urban VIII in 1628.
