St. Laurentius in Heretshausen

The Catholic parish church of St. Laurentius is a monument in Heretshausen near Adelzhausen .

history

The tower , the choir and probably parts of the nave are from the 15th century . Around 1698 the nave was extended or rebuilt. In 1733 the tower was redesigned and an octagon with an onion hood was added. Renovation work worth over half a million euros was started in 2017.

Building description

St. Laurentius is a flat-roofed hall building with a drawn-in, three-sided closed choir under a barrel cap . The windows are shaped like a bass violin . The northern tower is crowned by an onion dome.

Furnishing

The stucco of the church is from 1910. The ceiling painting in the choir from 1733 shows the glory of St. Lawrence . It was uncovered in 1910. The nave fresco from 1910 is by Basilio Coletti . The cartridges come from Joseph Altheimer . The altars from the beginning of the 18th century were redesigned in New Baroque style in 1909 . The classical pulpit is from the end of the 18th century.
