Choir and tower of the church

The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. Nikolaus in Baiersdorf , a parish in the Central Franconian district of Erlangen-Höchstadt in Bavaria , was built from the 14th century. The church near the church square is on the list of protected architectural monuments in Bavaria.

The hall church with the retracted Gothic choir has a west tower, which probably dates from the 14th century. The choir, sacristy and nave were built in the 15th century.

Furnishing

The baroque furnishings , which were made from 1670 to 1679, were changed in the neo-Gothic style in 1898 . The pulpit altar from the mid-18th century was built in with parts of the older Renaissance pulpit , a Last Supper relief and the figures of Moses and John. At the top of the pulpit altar the risen Christ triumphs with the victory flag in hand. The gallery painting was created from 1670.

organ

On the second gallery is the organ from 1753, it carries a small figure of St. Nicholas , the namesake of the church , above the middle organ pipe . There are two coats of arms above the outer organ pipes: on the right the coat of arms of the city of Baiersdorf and on the left the Brandenburg eagle .

In 1973, a new organ with 25 registers from the Hoffmann organ builder was installed in the old case .
