St. Nicholas

The Evangelical Lutheran listed church of St. Nikolaus is in Wersdorf , a district of the rural community of Ilmtal-Weinstrasse in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia . The parish Wersdorf belongs to Johannis church of the parish area Niederroßla in Kirchenkreis Apolda Buttstaedt the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The small hall church was built according to tradition and the name on the weather vane 1798–1791. In the east it has a roof tower covered with a bulbous hood and a lantern , in which a church bell from 1550 hangs, which comes from the Peterskloster in Erfurt.

The interior has three-sided galleries . The pulpit altar dates from the time it was built. The organ with 10 registers , divided into two manuals and a pedal , was built in 1910 by Friedrich Wilhelm Böttcher, rebuilt in 1958 by Gerhard Kirchner and restored in 1995 by Gerhard Sperschneider.
