Saint Ouen ( Jèrriais : Saint Ouën) is one of the twelve parishes of Jersey . The municipality is located in the northwest of the island. It is the largest municipality in Jersey by area, is furthest away from the capital St. Helier and comprises 8528 vergées (15 km², 13% of the land area of Jersey). Neighboring municipalities are Saint Mary in the east and Saint Peter in the south. Otherwise, the municipality forms a kind of peninsula.
It is described as the most traditionally oriented community on the island. The community is named after Ouen , a Frankish saint.
Attractions
There are three prehistoric sites in St. Ouen:
- The dolmens of Les Monts Grantez ,
- the dolmens of La Hougue des Géonnais and
- the prehistoric site of Le Pinacle
To the northwest of the parish are the ruins of Grosnez Castle , a former medieval castle, the current view of which can be found on Jersey's 50 pence coins . It is also regularly offered in the program for touristic trips across the island.

politics
Unlike in other municipalities, the individual parts of the municipality are not called vingtaines , but cueillettes (Jèrriais: tchilliettes ). Vingteniers are chosen, but in these cueillettes. The individual parts of the community are:

- La Cueillette de Grantez
- La Cueillette de Millais
- La Cueillette de Vinchelez
- La Cueillette de Léoville
St. Ouen forms an electoral district and elects an MP.
All parishes in Jersey, including Saint Ouen, have an honorary police force made up of volunteer members who are organized in a police-like manner and have certain rights.

With Les Landes School, Saint Ouen has a primary school, which, unlike other schools on Jersey, does not have a nursery .

Saint Ouen has three local soccer teams. There is also a horse racing track near Grosnez Castle.
