After the Reformation , the church became a branch of the Church of St. Nikolaus von Büschdorf in the middle of the 16th century . It has been a branch of the St. Anna Church in Dieskau since the 18th century .
According to the inscription above the entrance gate and the year on the weather vane, today's church dates from 1793. The one remaining bell was cast in 1843. In 1995 the top of the tower was re-covered with slate; the tower was renovated in 2004. In 2002 the interior was renewed.
description
It is a simple baroque stone church with arched rectangular windows and a rectangular hall with a wooden barrel ceiling. The retracted square west tower has an octagonal top, which is crowned by a slate-covered, curly dome.
The simple, uniform furnishings of the Baroque style have been completely preserved inside. The pulpit altar is sparsely decorated with baroque carvings and vase attachments. A wooden and colored gallery runs along the north, west and south sides .
The organ prospect also dates from the 18th century. The two-manual organ set up in 1898 was made in the workshop of Zörbig master organ builder Wilhelm Rühlmann and was restored in 1982. The original church stalls are located under the north and south pores. The brass bowl shows St. George and decorations made of fruits and angel heads.
