History and architecture

The original Gothic church, of which only an ogival sacraments niche remains in the choir , was rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1721–1724 . The mansard roof as well as the church tower with hood and open lantern come from this renovation. The interior of the church and the altar were restored in 2008–2009.

The church is a rectangular hall church with a mansard roof and a choir tower with corner blocks and a curved dome and lantern. A covered gallery staircase is arranged on the west side. Drilled , profiled rectangular windows illuminate the interior. The interior is characterized by a wooden barrel and a surrounding double gallery.

Furnishing

The pulpit altar dates from 1725. The wooden barrel vault and the wooden baptismal font were also created in the 18th century. The altar and pulpit were painted over in 1901. A bell was cast in 1596 by Melchior Moenigk from Erfurt.

The organ was built in 1725 by Johann Georg Schröter and restored in 1993 by Hey Orgelbau .
