The church

The Protestant village church of St. Ulrich is in Weberstedt , a district of the Unstrut-Hainich community in the Unstrut-Hainich district in Thuringia .

history

The church is located in the middle of an elevated position in the village on the property of the Romanesque church building , which was built in the late Gothic period in 1522 and which was structurally modified in 1728, 1842 and 1909.

The nave

It is an elongated building made of rubble stones with a choir closure and a surrounding coffin cornice and windows from different building periods. From Gothic period are the ones with tracery provided lancet windows and two portals on the south side. The interior was spanned in 1911 with an ornate wooden barrel . The galleries with the beam heads , dew stick and tooth cut even decorate the room and are dated with the years 1560–1562. The paintings on the parapet fields are from 1991. The glazed patronage boxes and some portrait tombstones are reminiscent of the Goldacker family . The oversized triumphal cross decorates the room sacred. In the center shrine there is a relief with the consecration of Christ , in the wings there are saints.

The tower

The church tower was built in 1728 with a curved slate dome and a baroque portal.
