St. Wendalinus (Jammelshofen)
The Catholic branch church St. Wendalinus in Jammelshofen , a district of the local community Kaltenborn in the district of Ahrweiler ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), was built in 1921. The building on Kirchstrasse is a protected cultural monument .
history
The simple previous building from the 18th century was torn down and replaced by a new building based on plans by the cathedral master builder Julius Wirtz .
description
The St. The church, consecrated to Wendelin , is an exposed quarry stone building with three axes . There is an ox eye above the two-winged arched portal . On the eaves sides are three arched windows , which are closed with leaded glass windows from the time of construction.
Furnishing
The baroque altar from the first half of the 18th century has a two-part architectural structure with twisted columns and two wooden figures, St. Wendelin and St. Quintius, whose hands are nailed to the head.
