history

The year of construction is not known. It is known that there was a Romanesque construction phase. The church tower and apse were built in 1164 and 1174. The single-aisled hall church with east choir tower and round apse was built between 1164 and 1174.

The Gothic construction phase followed around 1300 with the figurative painting in the tower.

The rectangular choir was added in the late Gothic period . Investigations in the choir resulted in the year 1435. With the demolition of the apse and the choir, a major upheaval took place. The nave was lengthened, then the second arch was built in for static security.

During the Renaissance construction phase around 1616, the nave was raised and the tower was separated from the nave at the same time. In 1663–1664 the church and the tower were repaired when it was ravaged by the Turks and Hungarians .
