The steam locomotive series StEG 36.5 was an express train - steam locomotive series of the Austro-Hungarian State Railroad Company (StEG).
Since the train weights increased and the double-coupled machines of the StEG 26 series were no longer strong enough, the StEG had 14 type 2C express train locomotives built in its own locomotive factory. The four-cylinder compound locomotives were delivered in 1902 (ten pieces) and 1904 (four pieces). The machines were classified as series 36.5 and stationed in Vienna East .
After the nationalization of the StEG in 1909, they were given the series designation 109 by the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB) . They replaced the 406 series in front of the Orient Express and hauled express trains Vienna - Pressburg and Vienna - Brno .
After the First World War , all machines came to the BBÖ as series 109 , which was eliminated in 1934.
