The FC Stade Lausanne-Ouchy is a football club from Switzerland and was created on 1 July 2000 from the merger of FC Stade Lausanne and FC Ouchy. It is based in the Lausanne district of Ouchy . The club plays in the Center sportif de Vidy, which has space for 4,200 spectators. The team colors for home games are red-red-red, for away games blue-blue-blue.

Lausanne-Ouchy has been playing in the Challenge League since 2019 and, for licensing reasons, plays its home games at the Center sportif de Colovray in Nyon .

history

1895–1916: La Villa Ouchy FC

Founded in 1895 as FC La Villa Ouchy, he was one of the founding members of the Swiss Football Association . In the first season of 1897/98 , the club played in Serie A, the top division at the time, but relegated to Serie B in the same year. In 1916, FC La Villa Ouchy, like many other old clubs, disappeared from football .

1918-1999: FC Ouchy Olympic

Two years later, namely in 1918, the successor association was launched. The FC Ouchy Olympic played in the seasons 1922/23 - 1943/44 in the 1st league , the third highest Swiss league (the 1898/99 - 1929/30 still as Serie C, 1930/31 as the 3rd league and from 1931 / 32 until 1943/44 was designated as the 2nd division). The decline began in 1944/45, and in 1970/71 they found themselves in the 4th division (then the sixth highest division). In 1971/72 the club rose to the third division and 1980/81 to the second division . Until the bankruptcy, the club called FC Ouchy played in the 2nd division.

1901–2000: FC Stade Lausanne

The club was founded in 1901 as FC Signal Lausanne and played in Sauvablin (hence the name "Signal"), in Pontaise and then on Avenue de Cour. 1923 was the FC Signal Champion of his group in the promotional series (between series A and B). In 1926, FC Stade Lausanne was created from the merger of FC Signal and Cercle des Sports (founded in 1907 as Cercle Haltérophile de Lausanne, from 1917 Cercle des Sports athlétiques and 1918 Cercle des Sports).

He was champion of the French promotion series in 1929 and narrowly missed promotion to the first division (losing 3-2 in a third game against FC Freiburg). In 1938 he was relegated to the 3rd division, 1945-46 in the 1st division. From 1956 to 1959 he played in the 2nd division and in 1959 rose again to the 1st division. In 1968 he fell back to the 2nd division. He returned to the first division in 1975. The club played four NLB promotion finals (currently: Challenge League) and lost them.

Since 2000: FC Stade Lausanne-Ouchy

On July 1, 2000, a new attempt was started with the establishment of the FC Stade Lausanne-Ouchy club. The promotion from the 2nd league to the 1st league succeeded . In 2015 they reached 1st place there, but lost 2-2 and 0-1 to SC Kriens in the final promotion game to the Promotion League . Group victory was achieved in 2016 as well, but this time it failed in the first play-off round at FC United Zurich . In the third attempt in 2017, the promotion succeeded after victories against AC Bellinzona and Lancy FC . In the 2018/19 season, the club was promoted to the second-rate Challenge League.
