The Stadio Raul Guidobaldi is an athletics stadium in the central Italian city ​​of Rieti in the province of the same name , Lazio region .

history

The stadium with 5,000 seats became famous for the athletics event that has been held since 1971, the Rieti Meeting . It concludes the IAAF World Challenge in August / September of that year . The area is used by the athletics club Atletica Studentesca CA.RI.RI. The roof of the main stand is supported by an arched steel structure. The tubular steel grandstand on the back straight is without any weather protection. The natural grass surface is enclosed by an eight-lane, light-blue plastic track . Behind the east curve is the PalaCordoni sports hall in the immediate vicinity .

In 2003 and 2016 the facility in Rieti was the venue for the Italian athletics championships. The 2013 European Junior Athletics Championships were held from July 18th to 21st of that year in the Rieti stadium. For 2020, the stadium was selected again for the U18 European Athletics Championships .

World records

So far, eight world records have been set in the stadium at the Rieti Meeting. The track in the Stadio Raul Guidobaldi was a good place, especially for middle-distance runners.
