The parish church in Greiffenberg , a district of Angermünde in the Uckermark district , originally dates from the 13th century. It belongs to the Greiffenberg parish in the Uckermark parish of the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia .

History and architecture

After severe damage in the 17th century, the church was rebuilt from scratch using parts of the medieval predecessor building in 1723/24. It was renovated between 1961 and 1964. It is closed on the inside by a plastered ceiling on a cove with stucco profiles; an organ gallery is built in to the west.

Furnishing

The main piece of equipment is a wooden pulpit altar from around 1725 with a green and white frame and gold decor. The bulbous pulpit basket is arranged between double columns and acanthus cheeks, on the sound cover the eye of providence is shown in a glory of rays . The sandstone baptism from the end of the 16th century is attached to a new wrought iron base. On the hexagonal basin between Hermen pilasters, high-quality reliefs with biblical scenes can be seen: the flood , sinking of the Egyptians in the Red Sea, baptism of the Ethiopian eunuch by Philip ( Acts 8,26-40  EU ), baptism of Christ in the Jordan, Jesus as a child friend and Jacob's blessing . The underside of the pool is fitted with fittings and comes from the same artist as the baptism in Günterberg . A small wooden coat of arms of the Sparr family was created in the 18th century. Several tombstones have also been preserved, of which the figure tombstones of the married couple Otto and Anna von Sparr from 1576 in the south porch are particularly noteworthy. The organ is a work by Johann Michael Röder from 1742 with 12 stops on a manual and pedal . It was rebuilt in 1842 by Christian Friedrich Leopold Morgenstern and restored in 1967 by the Schuke Orgelbau company . A painting depicting Christ carrying the cross was created by E. Hoffmann in 1872. An embroidered desk top from the third quarter of the 13th century comes from Bruchhagen . A silver-gilt goblet with a paten was created around 1600. A cast iron altar crucifix was made in the first half of the 19th century. A pair of bronze candlesticks dates from the second half of the 17th century. Two brass chandeliers were created in 1874.
