action
Three American soldiers, Sergeant Brent, Sergeant Kane and Soldier Wilson, were able to escape from North Korean captivity . Pursued by the enemy, they try to make their way to the American lines. They find shelter with a Korean couple. The couple are then killed by the persecutors while their son Han is able to hide in the hills with his dog, a former police dog. Brent takes on the boy, although Kane is against it.
Wilson is killed by a mine. The rest of them meet the also escaped Corporal Estway, who manages to repair a defective radio. In a fight, the Americans can kill their pursuers. Han is wounded and separated from them. An American helicopter lands to rescue the soldiers. Brent and Kane learn that the area will be bombed at dawn. The two refuse to get on board. They want to find and save Han first.
They actually find the boy, but the dog is killed when they are rescued. Back at headquarters, the two sergeants successfully defend themselves against accusations that they had impeded the rescue. Brent, who is wounded, makes plans at the hospital to adopt Han. After the war he takes him to the USA.
