Stanisław Krzysztof Tuczyński de Wedel , also Stanisław Krzysztof Wedel-Tuczyński (German Stanislaus Christoph von Wedel-Tütz, * approx. 1634 in Tütz ; † 1694 ibid) was a Polish officer and senator .

Life

Wedel-Tuczyński was a son of the Polish landowner and chamberlain of Inowrocław , Andrzej Wedel -Tuczyński (1602–1641), and Marianna Leszczyńska , a daughter of the Grand Chancellor of the Polish Crown, Wacław Leszczyński (1575–1628). Between 1656 and 1659 he studied philosophy at the University of Ingolstadt . He was the owner of Tütz and Bentschen / Zbąszyń. As a cavalry officer, he took part in various campaigns of the Polish Crown Army. Between 1661 and 1672 he was Truchseß of Inowrocław.

As Rittmeister Wedel-Tuczyński led an armored cavalry regiment in 1673 in the battle against the Ottoman army near Chotyn on the Dniester . His achievements were publicly recognized by the then Grand Hetman , Jan Sobieski , who was elected king a few months later . Apparently in recognition of his military services, Wedel-Tuczyński became district administrator of Pyzdry in 1676 . Between 1679 and 1681 he was district administrator in the Powidz district, also in Greater Poland. Again under the leadership of Jan III. Sobieski he fought against the Turks outside Vienna on September 12, 1683. In 1669 he was a member of the Sejm on the occasion of the election of King Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki . He also took part in the general Sejm of 1670 as a member of parliament. From 1682 until his death he was castellan of Gniezno and as such a senator at the same time.

Unlike his grandfather Krzysztof Wedel-Tuczyński, his relationship with the Jesuits from Wałcz was not very friendly. Nevertheless, from around 1690 onwards they posted a chaplain to Tütz for a few years and after Wedel-Tuczyński's death, at the request of his widow, they sent two priests to keep the wake at the coffin for four months.
