Stanislav Pankov (born October 12, 1977 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) is a former Estonian ice hockey player who played a large part of his career with Tartu Kalev-Välk in the Meistriliiga .

Career

Club

Stanislav Pankov began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at JSK Monstera Tallinn , for whom he made his debut in the Meistriliiga at the age of 17 . In the following years he played for various clubs from Tallinn. Only in the 1997/98 season , in which he played at HK Central Kohtla-Järve , and in the 2001/02 season , which spent with the team of the Turkish Police Academy in Ankara , he was active outside Tallinn. In 2004 he won the Estonian championship title for the first time with HC Panter Tallinn . He then switched to Tartu Kalev-Välk , which was still called Tartu Välk 494 until 2007 , and played there until his retirement in 2012. With the team from the traditional university town, he won two further championship titles in 2008 and 2012.

International

For Estonia, Pankov took part in the junior division of the U18-C European Championship in 1994 , the U20-C2 World Championship in 1995 and the U20-D World Championship in 1997 , when he was voted best defender of the tournament.

In the men's area, Pankov first played for the Estonian national team at the 1997 C World Championships and the 1999 and 2000 B World Championships . After switching to the current division system, he took part in the 2001 World Cup in Division I and in the 2010 World Cup in Division II , when the Balts were promoted to Division I. He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Turin 2006 .
