Starowiriwka ( Ukrainian Старовірівка ; Russian Староверовка Starowerowka ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast of Kharkiv with about 1,300 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1827, is said to have emerged from the settlement of Makariwka, which was supposedly founded in the 18th century, and got its name from a small community of Old Believers who lived here in the early 20th century. Starowiriwka is the only village of the same name, 31.75 km² district council in the east of Shevchenko Raion .
The village is located at an altitude of 115 m on the bank of the Senek ( Сенек ), a 24 km long right tributary of the Oskol , 22 km east of the Shevchenko district center, 17 km west of Kupyansk and about 100 km southeast of the Kharkiv oblast center . Staroviriwka has a train station on the Kharkiv – Kupyansk railway line. The regional road P-07 runs south of the village .
