Staryj Oleksynez ( Ukrainian Старий Олексинець ; Russian Старый Алексинец Stary Alexinez , Polish Stary Oleksiniec ) is a village in the north of the Ukrainian Ternopil Oblast with about 980 inhabitants (2001).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1430 (another source mentions the year 1463), is the administrative center of the 30.3 km² district council of the same name in the south of Kremenets district , to which the village of Ivannja ( Івання , ⊙ ) with about 170 inhabitants belongs .
The village is located on the banks of the Dobryn ( Добринь ) a small, right tributary of the Horyn , 42 km southwest of the district center Kremenets and 42 km north of the oblast center Ternopil .
In the village there was a castle built in 1583, which was converted into a neo-Gothic palace in the second half of the 19th century. In March 1944, the headquarters of Enej ( Petro Olijnyk , Петро Федорович Олійник ; 1909-1946), a commander of the Ukrainian insurgent army , was located in the palace , which is why it was completely dismantled by the Soviets in the 1950s.
