Staryj Uhryniw ( Ukrainian Старий Угринів ; Russian Старый Угринов Stary Ugrinow , Polish Uhrynów Stary ) is a village in the Ukrainian Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast . It is located in the Kalush district , near the capital of the district , Kalush , and in 2001 had about 1000 inhabitants.

In the immediate vicinity is the village of Serednij Urhyniw , to whose district council the village belonged until 2018. On August 9, 2018, the village became part of the newly established rural community Nowyzja ( Новицька сільська громада Nowyzka silska hromada ).

The village was first mentioned in a document either in 1440 or 1447, depending on the source. In the middle of the seventeenth century, the villagers took part in the Khmelnytskyi uprising , which was brutally suppressed in this region.

Staryj Uhryniw became known nationwide in the 20th century as the birthplace of the Ukrainian nationalist politician Stepan Bandera (1909-1959).
