Stefan Höpfinger (born September 6, 1925 in Kraiburg am Inn ; † February 16, 2004 in Augsburg ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

education and profession

After finishing elementary school , Höpfinger attended the NCO school from 1940 and then took part in the Second World War as a soldier . After his release from captivity in 1947, he completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and underground miner . Höpfinger worked in the profession he had learned until 1959 and then became diocesan secretary of the Catholic Workers' Movement (KAB) in the diocese of Augsburg in May 1959 .

Stefan Höpfinger was married and had two children.

Political party

Since 1952 he was a member of the CSU. Höpfinger was a member of the CSU state board from 1979 and from 1979 was also deputy state chairman of the workers' union (CSA) in Bavaria .

MP

From 1956 to 1959 Höpfinger belonged to the city council of Penzberg and from 1963 to 1971 to the city council of Augsburg. From 1969 to 1976 he was also a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .

Höpfinger was a member of the German Bundestag from 1976 to 1990 . From 1980 to 1982 he was deputy chairman of the CSU regional group in the CDU / CSU parliamentary group and from 1982 to 1984 chairman of the parliamentary committee for youth, family and health.

Stefan Höpfinger has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the Augsburg-Stadt constituency .

Public offices

On April 4, 1984 Höpfinger was to succeed the president of the Federal Labor Office appointed Heinrich Franke for Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs in by Chancellor Helmut Kohl led government appointed. On the occasion of a cabinet reshuffle, he left office on April 21, 1989.
