Stefan Schnoor (born April 18, 1971 in Neumünster ) is a former German soccer player and is now a functional and sports expert1 . He analyzes and co-comments on Monday evening games for the sports broadcaster and is a regular guest on Fantalk .
Most recently he was a full-time sports director at VfB Lübeck .
Career
As a player
Schnoor started his career at VfR Neumünster . In 1991 he moved from Olympia Neumünster to Hamburger SV . On March 20, 1992 he played his first Bundesliga game. In 1998 Schnoor moved to England to Derby County , but returned to the Bundesliga in November 2000. Since then he has played for VfL Wolfsburg , whose team captain he has meanwhile been. After the 2005/06 Bundesliga season was over, the contract was terminated by mutual agreement on June 30, 2006. He came to a total of 277 Bundesliga games and 15 goals. In December 2006 Schnoor signed a contract with Holstein Kiel that ran until June 30, 2007 . After Schnoor had already ended his career at the end of the 2006/07 season, he signed with Hamburg's upper division Germania Schnelsen in autumn 2010 .
As a functionary
From the end of August 2017 to mid-November 2019, Schnoor was sports director of VfB Lübeck .
Other activities
In addition to his job, Schnoor is active as a player consultant for Match-Marketing GmbH and analyzes and co-comments on Monday evening games for the sports channel Sport1 .
Schnoor has been playing regularly in the FC St. Pauli Hamburg Allstars team since 2013 as part of the benefit game Kicken mit Herz , which has been taking place every year in the Hoheluft Stadium in Hamburg since 2008, against the UKE medical team , the Placebo Kickers Hamburg. This event supports the children's heart ward at the University Clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf.
