Prince Stefan von und zu Liechtenstein (born November 14, 1961 in Klagenfurt , Austria ) was Liechtenstein's ambassador in Berlin from 2007 to 2017 . Since December 2017 he has been Liechtenstein's non-resident ambassador to the Holy See .

Usually the name is shortened to Prince Stefan of Liechtenstein . As Liechtenstein prince he deserves the salutation Highness , as Liechtenstein Ambassador salutation excellence .

Career

Until 1987 he studied business administration at the University of Innsbruck . Marketing , banking and economic history were chosen as the focus of the course .

From 1988 to 1995 he worked for UBS , the largest Swiss bank, in Zurich and Frankfurt / Main. The prince also worked for the Boston Consulting Group at the same time . In addition, he organized the family estate.

After working in the private sector, he was ambassador to the Swiss Confederation in Bern ; from March 2007 to July 2017 he was Ambassador to the Federal Government of the Federal Republic of Germany in Berlin.

Stefan von Liechtenstein does voluntary work in landscape protection and in promoting youth sports.

family

Stefan von und zu Liechtenstein is the second son of Prince Alexander von und zu Liechtenstein (1929–2012), a descendant of Prince Johann I Josef . His mother Josephine nee Princess zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg (* 1937) is a daughter of Karl zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg . Stefan von Liechtenstein is a fifth cousin of Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein . Since 1988 he has been married to Princess Florentine von und zu Liechtenstein, b. Countess of Thun and Hohenstein (* 1963). The couple met while studying in Innsbruck. The marriage resulted in four children: Lukas (* 1990), Konrad (* 1992), Anna (* 1994) and Rita (* 1999).
