Steffen Haas (born March 18, 1988 in Karlsruhe ) is a German football player .
Career
At the age of 18, Haas was in the starting line-up of the then regional league team TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the 2005/06 season and played twelve of twenty games in the first half of the 2006/07 season . In the second half of the season, the multiple junior national player was thwarted by injuries. At the end of the season he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with Hoffenheim , where he made nine appearances.
For the 2008/09 season, Haas was loaned to Kickers Offenbach in the newly founded third division , where he immediately became a regular and was in the starting line-up 35 times in his first season. At the end of the season, OFC withdrew its purchase option and tied Haas to itself with a contract until June 30, 2011. In the 2009/10 season he defended his regular place and played in the 3rd division 30 times, scoring five goals. After the Offenbacher Kickers took the previous head coach Steffen Menze on leave in January 2010 and replaced him with the former Bundesliga coach Wolfgang Wolf , Haas became the second youngest captain in Offenbach's club history at the age of 21. In the 2010/11 season , Haas made 29 appearances (two goals) and scored 2-0 in the DFB Cup victory against VfL Bochum .
For the 2011/12 season he signed a two-year contract with Karlsruher SC . With the KSC, Haas made it to the 2nd Bundesliga again. However, he lost more and more of his position in the squad. During the 2013/14 winter break, he decided to leave the association and agreed with the management to terminate his contract. By summer 2014, Haas joined SV Wehen Wiesbaden from the 3rd division. There, his contract was not subsequently extended.
During the 2014/15 season he was signed by the Southwest regional division FC-Astoria Walldorf . Haas signed a contract there until 2018.
Steffen Haas made a total of seven appearances in German junior national teams. Two of them were in the U-18s, where he made his debut against Slovakia, while Haas played the other five games under coach Frank Engel in the U-20 national team.
