Steffen Vogel (born June 23, 1974 in Coburg ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CSU ).

education and profession

Vogel grew up in Wasmuthhausen . He attended elementary school in Maroldsweisach and graduated from the Friedrich-Rückert Gymnasium Ebern. After completing his military service in Ebern, he studied law at the University of Würzburg and graduated with the second state examination. He deepened his studies in the fields of political science and sociology and graduated with a Magister Artium . He completed a postgraduate course in “European Business Law” as an LL.M. from. He completed a specialist lawyer course in administrative law. He has been a specialist lawyer for labor law since January 2012, specialist lawyer for traffic law since August 2012 and specialist lawyer for criminal law since February 2014 . He is an independent lawyer with a law firm in Haßfurt .

Party career

He began his political career in 1994 when he joined the Junge Union and the CSU. From 1996 to 2002 he was chairman of the Junge Union Maroldsweisach, from 1997 to 2003 district chairman of the Junge Union Haßberge and from 2003 to 2009 district chairman of the Junge Union Unterfranken. Steffen Vogel is honorary chairman of the Junge Union Haßberge.

From 1997 to 2005 he was district manager of the CSU-Haßberge. Since 2009 he has been chairman of the CSU district association Haßberge. Since 2003 he has been a member of the board of the CSU Lower Franconia. Since 2010 he has been a member of the CSU Future Commission in Bavaria.

Local political mandates

From 1996 to 2008 he was local councilor in Maroldsweisach and from 2002 to 2008 second mayor. Since 2002 he has been a member of the district council of the Haßberge district .

Member of Parliament

After receiving 18,355 votes in the 2008 state elections , he was the first to succeed in the Bavarian state parliament . In July 2012 he was elected with 66 of 119 delegate votes as the successor to the no longer candidate Bernd Weiß on the direct mandate in the constituency of Haßberge, Rhön-Grabfeld in the 2013 state election against Christian Machon (53 votes). On September 15, 2013, he secured entry into the state parliament with 52.3% of the first votes for the district of Haßberge, Rhön-Grabfeld. In the 2018 state elections , Steffen Vogel secured himself re-entry into the Bavarian state parliament with 46.90% of the first votes. Steffen Vogel is a member of the Committee for Labor and Social Affairs, Youth, Family and Integration, and a member of the Committee for Health and Care. He is also a member of the council of elders.

Other engagement

In 2003 SC Maroldsweisach and Steffen Vogel became champion of the district class Haßberge 2. Vogel is legal advisor of the Bavarian Red Cross in the district association Haßberge, chairman of the kindergarten association Obertheres, member of the Caritas council Haßberge and he was spokesman for the young businessmen Haßberge.

Private

Vogel is a Protestant, has a second marriage and has three children. He lives with his wife and their child in Obertheres.
