Steffi Fuhrmann-Wróbel
Steffi Fuhrmann-Wróbel , Polish Steffi Wróbel (born April 30, 1929 in Königlich-Dombrowka , Opole district ) is an author, singer, Silesian dialect poet and local poet.
Life
Steffi Fuhrmann was born on April 30, 1929 in Königlich Dombrowka in the Upper Silesian district of Opole, the daughter of a forester. Due to frequent professional transfers of the father, the place of residence changed in the first years of life. In 1936 the family came to the Klein Silsterwitz forestry department in the Zobten Forestry Office in the Breslau district in Lower Silesia . Zobten became Steffi Fuhrmann's new home.
After the war, when the father returned to Silesia from Soviet captivity , the family came back to Silsterwitz and had to work for the Polish forestry, but were allowed to stay in the forestry. In October 1947, Steffi Fuhrmann married the Polish forester Wróbel, whose marriage resulted in five children.
After the political change in the Eastern Bloc , Steffi Fuhrmann-Wróbel was also able to actively participate in the German friendship groups for Silesia. There she meets regularly for cultural events in Waldenburg and Breslau . In 1992 she founded the singing group “Die Heimatsänger”, which appears in real Lower Silesian folk costumes. She is still active in the vocal group today and her daughter is now also actively involved. Fuhrmann-Wróbel is still an active member of the DSKG Breslau . She also worked as a writer with the working group Archives for Silesian Dialect .
