Oberbexbach is a district of Bexbach in the Saarpfalz district .
history
The place belonged to the municipality of Oberbexbach-Frankenholz. On April 1, 1937, the community Höcherberg was re-formed from the previous communities Höchen , Mittelbexbach and Oberbexbach-Frankenholz. It was not until May 1, 1947, when the municipality of Höcherberg was dissolved, Oberbexbach became an independent municipality in the Homburg district . This independence ended on January 1, 1974, when the municipality of Oberbexbach became a district of the city of Bexbach in the course of the regional and administrative reform in the Saarland .

In the center of Oberbexbach there is a Catholic and a Protestant church.

Stone mountain hut
Outside the village on the southern flank of the Höcherberg in the forest towards Frankenholz , the Oberbexbach local group of the Palatinate Forest Association has been running the Steinberghütte at an altitude of 360 m since 1971 . From here you have a very good view of the surrounding villages.
