Steinekirch is a parish village and district of the Zusmarshausen market in the Swabian district of Augsburg in Bavaria ( Germany ). The hamlet of Wolfsberg also belongs to the district .

From 1862 to 1929 the independent municipality of Steinekirch and its district belonged to the district office of Zusmarshausen and from 1929 to the district office of Augsburg , which from 1939 was called the district of Augsburg . It was incorporated into the Zusmarshausen market on October 1, 1976 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . The catholic parish church Sankt Vitus, Modestus and Kreszentia in Steinekirch belongs to the parish community Zusmarshausen in the deanery Augsburg-Land in the diocese of Augsburg . The villages of Elmischwang and Wolfsberg also belong to the parish .

In the district of stones church are the castle Wolfsberg and the Postal Schlössle mountain .
