The stone box from La Guette ( French: Coffre mégalithique de la Guette ) discovered in 1982 is located in a chestnut wood near the village of La Guette, on the heights of the Val sans retour ( German  valley of no return ) in Paimpont , in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in France . It is a small Bronze Age (around 2000 BC) individual grave. The megalithic complex was discovered by Michel Cabaret, a student at the University of Rennes . An incomplete excavation was carried out by Jacques Briard in the same year to establish a plan.

The disturbed stone box consists of six slabs and smaller stones. The internal dimensions are approximately 2.0 × 1.0 meters, with the width varying due to the arrangement in the eastern part. The visible part of the chamber is about 50 cm high. The north side contains a 40 cm wide plate and smaller elements. The west side consists of a block 1.65 m long and 30 cm thick, sloping inward. Its visible height is 60 cm. The east wall consists of three panels: from 75, 70 and 85 cm. The south wall contains the sixth plate. The box appears to be surrounded by a small hill. The arrangement of the panels is reminiscent of Viviane's house , which is located about 500 meters southwest. The stone box was probably excavated by robbers in the past. The ceiling is missing, which could have consisted of a plate or a cantilever vault . The surface removal revealed a small cairn of slate plates with a diameter of about 3.5 m.

Jacques Briard discovers a ceramic fragment that distinguishes the box from its Armorican counterparts. This discovery refined the dating. Under the stones in the center lay a few undoubtedly bell-shaped shards. One has a fine red paste in the decor. A box in the bell beaker culture in Upper Brittany is extremely rare. So far, the culture could only be assigned to scale-like shards near the Allée couverte of La Maison des Feins and perhaps those in one of the three stone boxes in the tumulus of Kerbernard south of Pluguffan in the Finistère department .
