The Stellako River is a river in the north-central part of the Canadian province of British Columbia .

The Stellako River forms the 14.5 km long outflow from François Lake , located on the Nechako Plateau , to Fraser Lake . The Stellako River leaves François Lake on its eastern north bank. It flows in a predominantly northeastern direction. Coming from the north, the Endako River meets the river 2 km above the mouth . After another 500 m, British Columbia Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway) crosses the river. Eventually the Stellako River reaches the southwest end of Fraser Lake, 2 km west of the Fraser Lake community .

Hydrology

The Stellako River drains an area of ​​approximately 5450 km². The mean discharge at the outflow from François Lake is 21.1 m³ / s. The highest monthly outflows usually occur from May to July.
