Stephan Götzl

Stephan Götzl (born February 3, 1960 in Kemnath ) is a German manager.

Life

After graduating from high school in Nuremberg in 1979, Götzl completed a commercial apprenticeship at Siemens AG by 1981 and then from 1981 to 1987 studied economics at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen . He then held leading positions at Siemens and Kienbaum Unternehmensberatung before Götzl was appointed State Secretary for Environment and Health in Rhineland-Palatinate from 1991 to 1992 . In 1992 he returned to Siemens and in 1996 became Managing Director of Pfleiderer Infrastrukturtechnik GmbH & Co. KG .

In 1999 he started his association activities with the appointment of general manager of the Association of Bavarian Economy and the Association of the Bavarian Metal and Electrical Industry . In 2000 he took over the position of general manager of the Bavarian metal and electrical company association . In 2002 Götzl was appointed a presidential member of the Association of Bavarian Business. From 2005 to 2015 he was Chairman of the Board and Association President of the Bavarian Cooperative Association (GVB)

Götzl is a member of the University Council of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , Vice President of the Bavarian Economic Advisory Council and was discussed in 2011 as successor to Georg Fahrenschon in the office of Bavarian Finance Minister.

Götzl has been a member of the board of the Society of Friends of Bayreuth since July 2010 .

In July 2013 Götzl compared a draft law of the EU Commission, according to which insolvent banks across Europe are supported, among other things, with the help of a fund supported by all banks and the Commission has the final say in the decision on the closure, with Adolf Hitler's Enabling Act .

Götzl has been a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. since 1982. Ostmark Nuremberg in the CV .

On May 26, 2015 it was announced that Götzl was being investigated on suspicion of infidelity. He is said to have paid private bills from the association's cash register. Götzl temporarily no longer held the position of chairman of the GVB. On June 23, 2015, the GVB announced that it would end the cooperation. The association did not provide any further details, including whether Götzl will receive a severance payment.
