Stephan Heibges

Johann Baptist Stephan Heibges (born March 13, 1888 in Salm (Eifel) , † October 27, 1938 in Paderborn ) was a German classical philologist and high school teacher.

After attending the Friedrich Wilhelm High School in Trier and graduating from high school in Easter 1907, he studied classical philology and German in Münster and Munich . In Münster he received his doctorate on June 23, 1911 with the thesis De clausulis Charitoneis . With the state examination on 11/12 In December 1911, he was qualified to teach German, Latin and Greek. He initially worked at grammar schools in Herford (1912-1914) and in Lippstadt (1917-1922). From October 1, 1922 to August 31, 1924 he was director of the secondary school in Hamm . From September 1, 1924 until his death, Heibges was director of the Theodorianum in Paderborn. Here he also wrote numerous school books for the Ferdinand Schöningh publishing house .

Stephan Heibges was the father of Wolfgang Heibges .
