Stephan Madaus

Stephan Madaus (* 1974 in Parchim ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

From 1992 to 1998 he studied law at the University of Rostock (1995–1997 research assistant at Harald Koch's chair . 1998 first state examination in law ). After completing his doctorate on the subject of entering into debt as personal security in 2000 (1998–1999 scholarship at the Institute for Banking Law and Banking in Rostock 1999–2000 research assistant at Peter Bydlinski's chair ), he was a legal trainee in Brandenburg from 2000 to 2002 (second state examination in 2002). From 2002 to 2009 he was a research assistant and habilitation candidate at Ralph Lothar Weber's chair . After moving to the University of Greifswald in October 2009, research assistant at Anja Hucke's chair . From 2008 to 2009 he conducted research as a visiting scholar with Deborah R. Hensler at Stanford Law School at Stanford University as a scholarship holder of the Fritz Thyssen Foundation for the Promotion of Science. After his habilitation in 2010 ( license to teach civil law, commercial law, civil procedural law and insolvency law), he represented the chair for civil law, German, European and international corporate law ( Horst Eidenmüller ) at LMU Munich in the 2010/2011 winter semester and 2011 summer semester . In the summer semester of 2012 he was a professor at the University of Regensburg . In the winter semester 2012/2013 he was offered the chair for civil law, civil procedure and insolvency law as well as IPR (successor to Peter Gottwald ) by the University of Regensburg and was appointed university professor. In the summer semester of 2014 he was appointed to the chair for civil law, civil procedure and insolvency law (successor to Urs Peter Gruber ) by the University of Halle-Wittenberg and was appointed university professor .

His main research interests are German and foreign insolvency law, civil procedure law and loan security law.
