Create

Stephan Mathys is the author of radio plays (including for DRS1 / SRF1 ), plays , shorter and longer prose , song texts and poems . Since 2003 he has been writing texts for live radio plays, and since 2011 for the vernissages of the painter Raoul Ris, among others . He also writes for stage productions with musicians and actors and cooperates with visual artists.

The preferred subject of Mathys radio plays, theater plays and narrative texts is the confrontation of everyday reality with unrealistic imaginations and experiences. In his first larger book, the short story book Vor dem Fenster , published in 2018 , he stages “with a precise, poetic eye for the little things of everyday life and the intricacies of interpersonal relationships”, “ingenious play (s) with fiction”, whereby the protagonists of the stories must constantly recognize: “You imagine your life, have your dreams, big and small, and you see reality, which is completely different.” As an established radio play and theater author, Mathys leads the characters on his 'narrative stage' to surprising encounters the 'impossible', the 'wonderful', which rigorously questions the order of life of the actors.
