Steve MacIntyre (born August 8, 1980 in Brock , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League since September 2013 .
Career
Steve MacIntyre began his career as a hockey player in the Western Hockey League , where he played for the Saskatoon Blades , Red Deer Rebels and Prince Albert Raiders from 1998 to 2000 . After a year in which MacIntyre paused with ice hockey, he was in the 2001/02 season with the Bay County Blizzard from the Continental Elite Hockey League and Muskegon Fury from the United Hockey League under contract. In the following season, the Canadian was in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey for the St. Jean Mission and continued in the UHL for Muskegon Fury on the ice. This was followed by three years in the organization of the New York Rangers , in which the attacker played for the Hartford Wolf Pack from the American Hockey League and the Charlotte Checkers from the ECHL .
After MacIntyre was each a season with the Quad City Mallards in the UHL and the Providence Bruins from the AHL under contract, the Edmonton Oilers took him in the summer of 2008 for exceeding the salary ceiling under contract. He scored his first goal in the National Hockey League on January 13, 2009 against the Washington Capitals .
In November 2009, MacIntyre was placed by the Oilers in the waiver, from which he was signed by the Florida Panthers . In July 2010 he moved to the Edmonton Oilers. After only one season with the Oilers, he moved to the Pittsburgh Penguins after the 2010/11 season .
In September 2013, MacIntyre was placed by the Penguins in the waiver, from which he was signed by the Edmonton Oilers . This is his third attempt at the Oilers.
