Steven Edwards (born January 15, 1991 in Breda , North Brabant ) is a Dutch football player who has been under contract with the second division Achilles '29 from Groesbeek since the 2013/14 season .

Career

Edwards has been part of the Eredivisie squad of NAC Breda since 2010, but played regularly in the youth team Jong NAC . He made his debut in the first eleven in the KNVB Cup game against HBS Craeyenhout on October 31, 2012, when he was sent to the field in the eleventh minute of the game for veteran Kees Luijckx . At the end of the 2012/13 season he came to two short appearances in the honor division by substitution - on April 10, 2013 in the 88th minute against NEC from Nijmegen and on May 5, 2013 in the 89th minute against Roda JC Kerkrade , each for Anthony Lurling . Jeffrey van As , Technical Director of NAC, acknowledged Edwards 'talent to play once for the Breda first team, but Edwards' contract, which expired on June 30, 2013, was not renewed.

For the 2013/14 season, the defender moved to the second division and only amateur club in the Eerste divisie , Achilles '29 . Edwards is preferred here in the defensive midfield or as a left full -back and became a regular player in his first season (33 of 38 possible appearances). Achilles '29 finished twentieth and last at the end of the season, but did not relegate as there was no relegation for two years after a reorganization of the Eerste divisie . Edwards' contract was extended for one year and he remained a regular in the second division team in the 2014/15 season.
