college

Between 2003 and 2006 Wright played in his home state for Bowling Green State in the NCAA Division I. In his senior year, he moved to the NCAA Division II to the Norse of Northern Kentucky University . There he had a very successful year and was appointed to the division's All-American First Team, which corresponds to the five best basketball players of the year in this league nationwide.

Basketball Bundesliga

After graduating from college, Wright signed a professional contract in Germany with the New York Phantoms Braunschweig. In the following 2008/09 season he was signed by the Paderborn Baskets , where he played with Nathan Peavy , who was also from Dayton, and reached the play-offs of the Bundesliga . In November 2009 he signed a contract with league competitor WALTER Tigers from Tübingen and achieved a midfield placement with the club in the 2009/10 season . Shortly before the start of the 2010/11 season , Wright was obliged by the previous season's athletic relegated Gloria Giants from Düsseldorf , who had only secured the league's whereabouts by purchasing a wild card . The Giants landed again on a relegation zone and this time relegated to the ProA . Wright left the Bundesliga and moved to Finland. There he terminated his contract with Namika Lahti after a month for, according to his own statements, family reasons.
