Stewart Tritle

John Stewart Tritle (born March 22, 1871 in Virginia City , Nevada , † March 7, 1947 in Saint Petersburg , Florida ) was an American tennis player .

biography

Tritle worked in the construction business and in 1904 worked as head of the construction department for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition , which also included the Summer Olympics in St. Louis. There he took part in the tennis competition himself . In the singles he lost in his first match Dwight Filley Davis as well as in the first round of the doubles , where he lost with Forest Montgomery against the pairing of Charles Cresson and Semp Russ . Even in the demonstrations where he played, he did not win.
